What is Remet?
Remet is a social app for meeting verified people nearby, in person. You see who is out and open right now, talk for five minutes in a text-only chat, then meet at a public partner venue such as a café, studio or gaming zone. Every account is identity-verified and 18 or over. It is opening first in Indore.
Is Remet a dating app?
Not only. When you go live you say what you are up for right now: meet up, hang out, talk, or a date. Remet introduces verified people nearby for all four, and every meeting happens in public at a partner venue.
How does Remet verify people?
Once, through Aadhaar via DigiLocker, which proves you are a real adult of 18 or over. The Aadhaar number itself is never stored. A liveness check then confirms a real person before anyone can see you. On top sits a pseudonym: others see a handle and an initial, and your photo stays hidden until you both agree to meet.
Where is Remet available?
Remet is opening first in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Meetings happen only at public partner venues Remet has visited: cafés, cinemas, gaming zones, comedy clubs, live music, art studios, bookstores and pickleball. Leave your WhatsApp number on the waitlist and Munshi will message you once, when the door opens.
Does Remet show my location or my real name?
No. Your location is rounded to a zone and cleared every night, and nobody sees an exact distance to you. Your legal name is never shown; it is held privately, for safety. People see a handle and an initial.
What happens in a Remet chat?
It is text only and lasts five minutes, then it ends. Phone numbers, handles and emails are redacted on the server. Afterwards you each decide privately whether to meet, and a no is never shown to the other person.
Does Remet charge me?
There are no likes, streaks, public scores or paid boosts. If you pay a venue bill through Remet, you are paying that venue for a real service; Remet keeps a commission from the venue and never adds a fee to your bill.
Who is Munshi?
Munshi keeps Remet's ledger. He records only meetings that actually happened, two phones confirming you were both there, and ignores likes, streaks and public scores. Every report and complaint lands on his desk too.
